From Novate Mezzola, the mule track climbs steadily through chestnut woods, stone steps, and panoramic bends, passing Avedée before entering Codera. It is the most direct and reliable path, with exposed sections protected by railings but presenting no technical climbs.

A longer, scenic approach that follows the historic Tracciolino railway track above Lake Mezzola before turning into Val Codera. Expect tunnels, ledges, wooded sections, and expansive views over the lake. Bring a headlamp for the tunnels and check seasonal access conditions before setting off.

A quieter variation from Novate Mezzola that reaches the small hamlet of San Giorgio before rejoining the main mule track towards Codera. The route is rewarding for hikers who want a more gradual pace and additional scenic viewpoints, but it adds distance compared to the direct ascent.
